Wireless mesh networks. Three simple words connected together bring expectations, emotions, but also disillusions. Over expectations in the early begins of WMNs commercial deployment, many algorithmic challenges and technological boom during last few years completely changed the view of scientific and engineering communities to this topic. WMNs are nowadays considered and already used as a communication platform for many different applications in the field of telemetry and automation. Lighting control is just one kind of application deploying wireless mesh networks with tens, hundreds or thousands of devices installed in the field. Therefore both the cost of communication devices and high reliability of the routing process should be achieved.
